What is New ?
New with BookPrintXP version 10 compared with version
2.2.02 (since December 2015)
BookPrint has changed from Shareware to Freeware, there is no license fee any
more.
New with BookPrintXP version 2.2.02 compared with version
2.2.01 (since September 2008)
The following errors have been fixed:
- If a page range is selected for
image conversion and this range starts with an other
page than the first page then the program may
fail.
- If EMF files are selected for
the creation of a GIF file the processing could
be very slow due to insuficient recources.

Vista.

(BookPrnt.HLP) has been replaced by the 32 Bit HTML Help System (BookPrnt.CHM).
- With the old versions spool files could
have been modified by delete and undelete functions. With this
new version the spool files are untouched
- The Page List function has been added:
Spool files (Print Job files) and some picture files (GIF and TIFF) may
contain more than one page. If the number of pages is higher than the
files in the Job List the list may
be converted to a Page List.
- The Job List Dialog has been extended by Move
Up and Move Down functions.

The
following functions have been added:
- Drag and Drop:You may drag a collection of picture files from the
windows explorer with the mouse and drop them on a selected page of the
preview window. These pictures are then inserted before or after the
selected page.
- The Context menu for Page Edit has been
extended by the Copy to Clipboard and Recover Print
Job commands. You may copy pages of print jobs or EMF-files to the
clipboard either in EMF- or TEXT-format. With the Recover Job Pages command all
deleted pages of the print job are recovered.
- The list of applications has been extended
by 2x8, 2x16, and 2x32 Pages per
sheet. The pages are printed such that the sheets have not to be folded.
- Flipped or Mirrored pages may be
printed. The flip/mirror option has been added to the Print... Dialog
New with BookPrintXP version
1.4 compared with version 1.3 since August 19th 2005
The
following functions have been added:
- Adjust Document Margins: In
many cases the margins of a page are actually larger than the margins
defined by the Margins setting
(BookPrint Margins). Thus the pages are
displayed smaller than expected. The margins are larger than the BookPrint Margins, because the margins of an
application (Document Margins) are added to the BookPrint
Margins. For example you may have specified
margins with the WinWord application before printing to the BookPrint printer. These Document Margins are being
displayed within the frame of the BookPrint
Margins. With the new function Adjust
Document Margins the pages are adapted to the BookPrint
Margins. The program then computes the surrounding white stripes of all
pages and removes them.
- The Page Edit Dialog has been
extended by the Adjust Document Margins and Undo
Adjust Doc.Margins commands
- Context menu for
Page Edit has been extended by the Adjust Document Margins and
Undo Adjust Doc.Margins
commands
- Printer Name list of the Print... Dialog may
also show network printers.
- The Home and End Keyboard
Shortcuts have been added.
The following error has been fixed with release 1.4.0.1
- The Print… button was
deactivated if there was no job to be printed. As a consequence
you were not able to change any field in the Print… Dialog. Especially you
were not able e.g. to uncheck the Print immediatelyHELP_PRINTX option.
- With eight pages/sheet
the arrangement of pages could be incorrect.
New with BookPrintXP version
1.3 compared with version 1.2 since March 11th 2005
The following functions have been added or improved:
- Installation: The BookPrint Printer
Wizard for Windows 2000/XP has been made easier. The print spooler service
is not anymore started at the console (showing red message).
- Deleting print jobs is improved with the Win 2000/XP version – no
console messages.
- Improved Uninstalling Procedure with the
Win 2000/XP version – no console messages.
- The printer name list (drop down list) of the
Print… dialog may also show network printers.
- Tooltips for the main push buttons have been added.
- With Win 2000/XP the program may also be accessed
by user accounts with restricted rights
- Printers with a name longer than 32 characters
could not be opened.
New with BookPrintXP version
1.2 compared with version 1.1 since Nov. 12th 2004
The following functions have been
added:
- Installation:
The BookPrint Printer Wizard for
Windows 2000/XP has been improved. The Add Printer Wizard of the Windows
system is not to be used anymore. The installation doesn’t
require the not digital signed BookPrint
driver.
- The BookPrint
driver for Windows 2000/XP has been expanded by the paper sizes A3 and
A2 and the resolution 1200 bpi.
- You need not erase print jobs
manually after printing
- Improved Uninstalling
Procedure. The BookPrint printer for Windows
2000/XP can be deleted automatically.
- Now you can convert and save
all pages or selected page ranges at once into image files (Page
Edit)
- Multiple picture frames of
imported GIF and TIFF files are now supported
- With the Poster Margins you may specify
overlap edges. Using this option you may avoid white
gaps when joining paper sheets together.
- The Context menu for
Page Edit has been extended by the Zoom In
and No Preview functions
- The metric measurement
unit is extended by the inch unit
- With desktop resolution
800x600 the Extras window was not shown correctly.
- The run type library gdiplus.dll
has been replaced by an updated version. This file is required by Windows 9x and 2000.
New with BookPrintXP version 1.1 compared with version 1.0.01 since

The following function has been
added:

You may edit pages
directly if you right click the mouse on a previewed page. Then from the Page
Edit Context Menu you may save, delete or
rotate the selected page.

The program now
supports GIF-Files and TIFF-File with multiple frames.

Correction:
- With print jobs created with WordPad the first page was not printed
- The installation help topics of the Help File have been corrected
(translation of dialogs).

1.0 compared with BookPrintMe
The
functions of BookPrintXP are based on the
German shareware program BookPrint2 Version 1.1.01. Only the text has
been translated from German to English. Some text of BookPrintMe
has been used.
The
following functions have been added:
- BookPrintXP
supports Windows 9x/Me and Windows 2000/XP as well.
- Installing the BookPrint Driver depends on the operating system
- Print immediately
without interruption by the BookPrintXP Manager
- The margin dialog is
expanded by document margins
- Ink saving mode
- With Page Edit you can
rotate pages and/or save the page as an image file (BMP, PNG, JPG).
- New Export/Import
functions
- With the import function
you can import image files
- With the 1x2 Pages/Sheet
setting no advertisement pages are printed even if you use the non registered version of BookPrintXP
- New codes for the Heading/Footing
- The Watermark option
allows the editing and using of image files

Correction:
- The BookPrint-Driver was
not installed automatically with the Setup procedure.
After installation of version 1.0 the driver had to be installed manually
as described under the Help topic: Installation of BookPrint-Driver
- Program Icon was not installed
First BookPrintMe
Version 1.0
BookPrintMe is based on the German shareware program BookPrint
Version 1.7.03. The functions of both versions are the same. Only the text has
been translated from German to English.
